I am don’t like doing each individual category so I write it all here. I like this idea. I think what I like most so far is that idk where it’s going next. It’s like the biggest cliffhanger lol. Also there’s not many action lines driving the plot forward. I know it’s still an early draft so I don’t mean to nitpick too much also I gave your dialogue and character development a fair grade because it’s only an establishing shot and not much is here. But I enjoyed this 2 minute read and look forward to seeing what this will end up becoming. A few questions I have that I’m sure you’ll answer or already have answered: What’s Tex’s backstory? Is he just this ruthless killer? Does he kill for a purpose (assassin, spec ops, etc) is he a cowboy? What time period is this movie set in? Feels like present day but I’m not sure. Is this a horror movie? I look forward to seeing what more you have to add to this and how it all ties together for 60 pages or so. Good luck going forward! Overall, I would gladly read more of the scripts you create and hope that you’d do the same for mine. Again, good luck on your future projects..

Overall, this is a step down from your other scripts I’ve read. Not sure what the goal of this one was. The character didn’t really have any development. The plot was stagnant and a bit all over. The devil didn’t really give me devil vibes. Just seemed like a character you labeled “the devil” and just made him a soul stealing deal maker. I do think that you had a vision for maybe a horror movie but this one didn’t hit the mark for me. I think going to look at how horror scripts are formatted and try this again. I didn’t get submerged in the realm of a scary movie. also, there was no back story for any of the characters. Why does the protagonist want this fame? Did he go thru a breakup? Is he an aspiring artist? What did he do before resorting to making a deal with the devil? What’s willie browns story? Who’s the girl in the beginning that he was flirting with? And her husband? What’s his deal. So many questions you should answer and go rewrite this. Maybe consider not making it a short. Take your time. This might actually be. A good vision.

Okay sorry for the weak breakdown. I am new to this whole screenwriting/review thing but I want to give my honest opinion here. I, being very new to this actually did enjoy your short. I could easily visualize what the protagonist was going through. And I felt for him. I said the concept was cliché because it’s the common breakup story but it works. I also appreciated that you didn’t make the young woman dislikable. She had a side of the story. A relatable side and I felt for her also. So it was nice to see that he was able to move on after going through the motions of his breakup. You very vividly captured what it’s like for some people after a breakup. So well done.

Overall, I can definitely picture this on screen and I’m a fan of romance movies and this one definitely stood out as one id see on Netflix (which is better for me because I hate going to the movies lol) but yeah, great job man. Keep up the work.
