“Think MASH upside down. Instead of the staff holding primary positions and patients in supporting roles, in “A Stroke of Luck” we have the patients of a Rehab for brain-damaged as main characters, with the staff as supporting players.

A Heartwarming, madcap half-hour TV Dramedy
Synopsis:
In a specialized rehab hospital for brain-damaged patients, "A Stroke of Luck" unfolds as a heartwarming and comedic journey through the lives of an unlikely group of patients-turned-friends. This TV dramedy reinvents the classic dynamic of “M*AS*H," putting the patients front and center as the protagonists, while the essential staff members play a supporting role.
At the center of this tale is Jack Murphy ( 30s), a disillusioned novelist whose cynicism deepens following a debilitating stroke. Struggling with paralysis, cognitive hurdles, and a profound loss of interest in writing and life itself. Jack feels he has lost everything. Eventually, though, Jack discovers, an unexpected lifeline. Through the camaraderie and encouragement from his quirky but inspiring fellow patients he encounters another writing medium— screenwriting, that piques his interest. At their urging he crafts a screenplay about their stroke journey, This project reignites Jack’s love for writing, breathing life back into his hope and sparking a newfound determination to rewrite his own narrative.
Within the walls of Saunders Rehab Hospital, Jack forges an unbreakable bond with several fellow patients, notably Dona, a spirited and daring woman determined to conquer her own challenges, Martha, a boisterous and outgoing woman with a heart of gold and Fred, a frightened , biter metal halo-wearing, young man.Together, they become partners in mischief and laughter, reflecting the camaraderie seen in "MAS*H," only this time, the patients take center stage.
As they navigate the grueling path to recovery, Jack, Dona, Martha and Fred defy their conditions, reshaping the meaning of resilience. The staff members, while pivotal in the healing process, provide a backdrop against which the patients' unique stories unfold. Every week brings a new narrative, but the charismatic, eclectic core cast remains a constant, their growing relationships with each other and the staff weaving a tapestry of emotional depth.
"A Stroke of Luck" captures the indomitable spirit of humanity as it confronts adversity head-on. Infused with laughter, heartache, and hope, the series celebrates the healing power of friendship and the unexpected journeys that emerge when life takes an unforeseen turn. As the patients become the heart and soul of the hospital, the staff members find themselves inspired and forever transformed.
In this captivating pilot and the adventures that ensue, "A Stroke of Luck" invites viewers into a world where humor and adversity collide, crafting a unique dramedy that boldly celebrates the resilience within us all.
