However, it also works in the story's favour since the characters and situations in which they find themselves are easily relatable, and I think the plot also benefits from its simplicity – there's no saving the town, no action sequences, no big-budget bullshit. Like I said, overall, it's a good idea. You have some great characters, good development, a little social awareness without being heavy-handed, and a decent idea. The main problem is that your idea has been used so many times that you need to make it less obvious. VInce being involved was a surprise, the rest I saw coming early into the script.
