Rachel is in deeply in love with Kris and wants to spend the rest of her life with him, but when Kris writes a fictional short story based off of a girl he dated in high school, it makes Rachel reconsider. Kris breaks up with Rachel because she doesn't like the story he wrote, which causes Rachel to have some terrible thoughts.
From the back seat of police cruiser, a father sees his daughter taken out of the back of his car by, Ed, a man he knows from her school. The father must decide if she is better off with him or in the "system" like him. Ed must learn that raising a child isn't about finding personal redemption.
