Ryan Parker goes on a disastrous date with a girl he met on Tinder. After Ryan makes every attempt to hide his Superhero and Pop Culture side of his life because of his insecurity and ongoing rejection, his date still finds a piece of it. Ryan forgot to change his Batman underwear. His date rejects him because of her true distaste for all of that goofy nonsense and leaves Ryan in sadness.

Ryan huddles in his apartment living room to recover from the rejection and enjoy the comfort of watching his favorite actress, Kate Hudson, but it's interrupted as his friend and next door neighbor Gabby comes over. Ryan tries to get her to leave since he's not in the mood for talking to her or anyone else right now, but she tries to stay to talk to him. He tells her about the rejection and how he feels he has no luck with women because of who he is. Gabby promises he'll find someone who likes him for who he is.

Gabby finally leaves and lets him be alone. Ryan takes a moment and looks at Tinder. He sees his date unmatched with him so he goes on a wide spread matching spree. He finds a girl that says she matches with everyone so swipe right. He does so and finds that they haven't matched. He can't even match with a girl that matches with everyone. Ryan tosses his phone and continues watching How To Lose a Guy In 10 Days.

He sits in wonder at Kate Hudson. Ryan opines at how if he was the leading man in the film that Kate's character would never want to be with him. Ryan slowly gets tired and says he would give anything to be with her. Even his left nut.

Ryan falls asleep as the TV freezes on a close up of Kate Hudson's character. He wakes up to find Kate Hudson in his apartment making breakfast. Ryan freaks out and checks his balls to see if he's dreaming. Both are still intact. It must be real, but then he notices the Batman underwear on. He hides them, but Kate assures him she likes them. She tells him she had a crush on Michael Keaton when Batman '89 came out.

Ryan gets changes and eats breakfast with Kate. He asks how she came to his apartment. Kate tells him that it was because he wished for her to be with him. That stuns Ryan. He runs to Gabby's apartment and catches her in the shower. Gabby freaks and tries to get him to leave, but he tells her the most crazy things happened. Kate Hudson's in his apartment.

Gabby comes over still in her wet towel to find Kate sitting in the living room. She's stunned, but wonders why she'd choose a loser like Ryan to be with. Ryan and Kate kiss after Kate proclaims being with Ryan is an upgrade compared to the Hollywood studs. Gabby is sickened at seeing her best friend make out in front of her. She says she has to dry off and get changed, but wants to come back over to talk.

Gabby comes back to her place and gets dressed. She finds that her Mother is texting her asking her to talk, wondering why she won't answer her, and that she can talk to her whenever. Gabby's annoyed by this and swipes away those texts. She tells Ryan and hers friends about Kate being with Ryan.

Ryan sees those texts in the group chat. He freaks and catches Gabby coming over to his place in the hall. He asks her why she'd do such a thing. Gabby says because it's awesome. He wished for an amazing woman and now she's with him. Ryan's pissed and tells her to stay away. He rushes back into his apartment where Kate waits. She asks why it was so wrong of Gabby to tell. Ryan begins to break and tells her it's because he's afraid their relationship will be ruined. He doesn't want it to end up like all the others where he tells everyone about the amazing girl he's with just for her to leave him because she found out who he really is.

Kate reassures him that she likes him for all he is. Goofy, funny, and kind. It doesn't matter to her if he likes Batman or superheros in general. She likes him and that's what makes him him. Ryan begins to feel better. Kate tells him they should go out for lunch so she can see around New York and he'll feel better being out.

Gabby goes back to her room and searches for her weed. She smokes it to relax herself while she listens to SpongeBob songs, but it's interrupted as her Mother FaceTime's her. Gabby accidentally answers it and freaks. She doesn't know what to do so she hides from the phone. Gabby's Mother begs for Gabby to talk to her. She wants her to know it's okay and that she can talk to her about anything. It begins to bring Gabby to tears. She gets closer to the phone, but her Father interrupts her Mother. As Gabby gets closer to the phone the call ends. Gabby lays there in tears.

Ryan gets ready to go out. Kate comes in and compliments him on the way he looks. Ryan tells her he's excited about going to eat at Red Robin. It's his favorite place even though his last date there ended with the girl leaving him for the waiter. Kate promises that won't happen this time. Kate gets a call from Adrian Lyne the Director. They speak about her being cast in his new movie as the lead in his remake of Lolita. Ryan becomes anxious as Kate tells him about the role in the new sex film that's bound to have Timothee Chalamet as the young man who she falls in love with. She's so excited and wants to celebrate. She says she'll cancel Red Robin for a fancier restaurant. Ryan sits in anxiety and insecurity as his thoughts race through his mind.
