Years after the Pronghorn Virus led to the collapse of civilization, a 47-year-old man and an orphaned 7-year-old girl cope with life in post-apocalyptic Los Angeles. Though the world is decaying, the man goes to extreme lengths to keep the little girl happy, giving her a joyful childhood. When he begins showing symptoms of the virus, however, he realizes that his time is limited and that the girl will one day be alone. The man must find a balance between being joyful and giving her the tools she needs to survive in this post-apocalyptic world.
